SCHOOL DAYS RULE DAYS (Donations are needed before the last 2 weeks in August)

Last school year The Sky Valley Food Bank gave out backpacks filled with school supplies through their “School Days Rule Days” program to 440 needy children in the Monroe School District. It is their aim to provide these items to even more underprivileged students BEFORE the 2007 school year starts so every needy child starts school with backpacks & supplies - just like other children! The only source of this much needed program is community donations. Please help by donating NEW backpacks and supplies, or money to purchase the supplies at: Sky Valley Food Bank, P.O. Box 724, Monroe, 98272. (Checks must be designated “School Days” or pay with Visa/MC at www.svfoodbank.org. Call 360-794-7959 for more info or email at endhunger@svfoodbank.org. Put a proud smile in the heart and on the faces of our children in need!

July 27, 28, 29, 2007
Ben Franklin is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the Gold Bar celebration of its colorful history with a "Gold Dust Days" festival, harking back to a time when the railroad workers panned for gold in the river.

This is a community-based festival, showcasing artisans and musicians from the Skykomish River Valley and a "Gold on Wheels" Car and Motorcycle Show. Multiple local organizations and clubs are participating.
