Sparkling Snowman Birdhouse
Sparkling Snowman BirdhouseWith minimal adult supervision, children 5 and up can create this wonderful sparkling birdhouse. What a great way to encourage creativity and build self esteem!

Materials Needed
Delta Ceramcoat® Acrylic Paints:
Blueberry(2513), White (2505), Empire Gold (2412),
Opaque Red (2507), Orange (2026), Black (2506)
Delta Decorative Snow
Sparkle Glaze
All-Purpose Sealer
Glue
Brushes:
1" wash, #8 flat, #1 round

Other Supplies:
Birdhouse (wood)
3 wood stars
Black Painty Pen
Craft Stick
Fine Grit Sand Paper
Tracing and Graphite & White Transfer papers
Pencil
Water Container
Paper Towels
Paper Plate (palette)
Plastic to cover work area
Painting Smock or Old Shirt (to protect clothing)

INSTRUCTIONS

Print pattern out and resize via copy machine to fit your project!

1. Sand any rough areas of birdhouse, wipe away dust. Using 1" brush, apply Sealer over the entire birdhouse, let dry.

2. Continuing to use the 1" brush, basecoat entire birdhouse with Blueberry, let dry.

3. Trace pattern on to tracing paper, using pencil. Transfer outline of snowman to front of house, using white transfer paper. Using #8 flat, paint snowman head and body White, allow this to dry, if necessary add a second coat of White, let dry. Transfer details of snowman using Graphite paper.

4. Dip #8 flat into White paint then dip a tiny corner into Opaque Red making Pink, softly apply to cheeks. Using #1 round, paint nose - Orange, eyes, mouth arms and buttons - Black. Using #8 flat, paint scarf Opaque Red.

5. Paint star cut outs Empire Gold. Using Black Pen, add a simple shingle design to the roof. Dip craft stick into snow and apply Decorative Snow to the roof, allowing some roof to show through. Then add some Decorative Snow to the base of the birdhouse. Let Decorative Snow dry.

6. Using pen, add fine outline to star cut outs. Using #1 round, and Empire Gold, add simple stars and dots randomly around house. Let Dry. Glue stars to house, let dry.

7. To seal the entire house with Sparkle Glaze, use the 1" wash brush. Apply it over the entire house, including the snow areas. This will go on milky but will dry totally clear. Let Sparkle Glaze dry.
