SUPPLIES:
Wood box with glass window
Pearl Finish Paint
Chain
Feet (4)
Corners (4)
Velvet Paper (4 sheets)
Picture
Painters tape
Sand Paper
Rub-n-Buff
Glue lines or double sided tape
DIRECTIONS:
1. Remove hinges and clasp from box and set aside. Use painters tape to mask off the glass. Sand and seal the wood if you've chosen stain instead of paint.
2. Paint all outside wood surface (3 coats if using Pearl Finish). If you choose to paint the inside lip of the box and lid be sure that the paint is dry before placing the lid back on the box or those surfaces may stick together.
3. If you would like to change the finish on the hardware, use Rub-n-Buff or antiquing gel at this stage.
4. After paint has dried, take measurements or make a plain paper template for the inside of the box and lid. Transfer those measurements to your lining velvet paper and cut out. Use glue lines or double-sided tape to adhere the cut lining to the inside. Be sure to insert your picture before lining the inside of the lid.
5. Re-attach hinges and clasp and add feet to the box. There are three holes available on each foot for placement of screws, use the outer holes to ensure that the screws will not poke through the inside of the box. Add photo corners, beads, shells or anything you'd like to finish off the top.
You may want to add some chain or ribbon inside to connect the lid and box and keep the lid from opening to far.
