Materials: (for Snowman Buddy)
4 in. diameter straw hat
White Delta Ceramcoat acrylic paint
Red felt
1 orange chenille stem
1 - 10mm white pompom
2 - 5 mm black pompoms
Black paint pen
Hot glue gun
Paint brush (not foam brush)
Scissors (for cutting felt and chenille stem)

Directions: (for Snowman Buddy)
1. Paint crown of straw hat white making sure to fill in all the crevices.

2. While paint is drying, make snowman’s hat, scarf, and nose.

3. To make the hat, cut one triangular piece of red felt. Base of triangle should be 2 ½ inches long. Hot glue a 10mm pompom to the top of the triangle.

4. To make the scarf, cut two pieces of red felt approximately 5 inches long and ¾ inch wide. Tie the pieces together so the knot is in the middle of the felt strips. Cut off one piece of felt on one side of the knot. Now you have one piece of felt on one side of the knot for the neck of the scarf and two pieces on the other side for the ends. Make several small cuts on the ends of the scarf to make the fringe.

5. To make the nose, wrap a chenille stem around the sharpened tip of a pencil until you’ve reached your desired length. Cut stem and tuck end into back of nose.

6. When paint is dry, hold the straw hat so that the crown is facing you. Hot glue the snowman hat to the top of the crown, covering about a ½ inch of the crown.

7. To make the face, glue on two black 5 mm pompoms for eyes. Glue on the chenille stem nose and, using the black paint pen, draw on a mouth.

8. To attach the scarf, glue the neck of the scarf along the bottom edge of the crown. Be sure to glue down the knot.
