Heirloom Ornament

Heirloom OrnamentMaterials Needed:
Vellum
Scanner
Photographs
Transparency film
Ink Jet printer
Glass disc ornament
Ribbons & embellishments

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Make a template for the transparency by holding the glass ball on a piece of vellum and tracing the outer edge. Be sure to include the “neck” of the ball. Cut the vellum just slightly smaller than the traced line.

2. Roll up the vellum and insert into the glass ball, making sure that it fits without buckling. Pull the vellum out and trim as needed.

3. Scan the photograph and reduce or enlarge to fit into the space of the template. Using an ink-jet printer, print out the image on the transparency. Place the template over the image and trace around template. (The vellum allows you to see through to the photo and get the image positioned perfectly)

4. Cut out the photo just slightly inside the traced line. Roll up the transparency and insert it into the glass ball. The "neck” will allow you to spin the photo into place. Put the glass ball cap and hanger back on. Use ribbons and embellishments to decorate.
