| 1. Select and Bring In Some Family Photographs: Go through your family photos to select some favorite ones. Bring them in, and through the magic of digital photography, we can scan them, size them, even retouch them, then create some heat transfers that fuse with the quilting fabric when applied. | 2. Decide on a Design... or Use Square By Square-tm Quilting Material The next thing to do is to visit our Fabric Department to chose some print material and decide on a pattern. Ben Franklin Crafts Fabric Department carries a number of quilting patterns you can work with or you can work with special easy-to-use Square-By-Square Quilting material with a quilting pattern template printed right on it. |

| 3. Pin Together Individual Panels and Sew Them Up Once you've chosen the material and a pattern, you can begin by cutting up and pinning together individual fabric pieces that make up panels in the pattern. You sew together each panel, then sew panel to panel to make a row of panels. Then you put the rows of panels together and voila, you have a Heritage Quilt! For more information and more help with this or other quilting projects, consider taking some of our quilting classes or attending our quilting club events. CLICK HERE and check our Crafts Calendars to see when quilting classes and other quilting events are coming up. |
