Faux Leather Box
Designed by Rita Fleehart

Craft Idea - Faux Leather Box

Materials Needed:
Wood box, stain
Wood Box
Deeply embossed paper
Brown stain
Waterbased varnish
Tacky Glue
Jute twine
Matte Spray Sealant
Ruler, pencil, scissors
Sand paper

INSTRUCTIONS:
Sand the box and then stain it. Let dry. Spray several coats of matt spray on the embossed paper to seal it. Measure areas of the box to be covered, cut paper 1/4 inch smaller on all sides. Glue pieces of paper to the box. Be careful not to get any glue on the top of the paper. Let dry. Now stain over the paper so it looks like leather. Varnish with one or 2 coats of waterbased varnish. Glue the jute twine around edges of paper to finish.
