Repurposed Frame with Butterfly

You probably have some extra picture frames stored in the closet not knowing what to do with them. Here’s a project that is super easy to make! We used a frame, scrapbook paper, and a wooden butterfly to create our own personal decorative frame that could be offered as a gift, or hung on your wall.

Basic Instructions:

1. Put your scrapbook paper on a table. Place the frame on the paper and use your pencil to trace around the frame. Use the scissors to cut the paper following the line you just made.

2. For the picture frame, you can use it as is, or paint it using a color that matches your décor.

3. Paint the butterfly with the acrylic paints you’ve chosen. Let it dry completely.

4. Place the frame face down on your working surface. Put glue on the back border, then place the paper over it moving it around to make sure it’s aligned with the frame.

5. Put glue in the back of your butterfly and place it in the center of the frame. Let this dry completely before moving the frame.

6. If there’s no hook on your frame to hang it, you can hammer in mini nails from which you’ll tie the jute.

Pin it to use later
