Project 1: Beaded Wrist Charm
A wrist charm is perfect for adding style while keeping your phone handy.
Supplies needed to make a Beaded Wrist Charm
- Stretch cord or nylon beading wire
- John Beads Strands (choose your favorite colors and styles!)
- Crimp beads (if using wire)
- Split ring
- Scissors or wire cutters
Instructions:
1. Measure your wrist and cut a piece of stretch cord or wire about 2 inches longer than that length.
2. String your beads onto the cord in any pattern you like.

3. If using wire, secure the ends with crimp beads by threading the wire through the crimp bead, looping it around the split ring or clasp, and flattening the crimp bead with pliers. If using stretch cord, tie a secure knot and add a dab of glue for extra hold.
How to Attach Your Charm Securely
Once you’ve created your beaded charm, it’s time to attach it to your phone insert. Follow these steps to ensure a strong and secure connection:
1. Add a split ring to your charm using pliers. (Remember to open the split ring vertically, not horizontally.)
2. Use two pliers to open a jump ring by twisting it away from you – only open it just wide enough to slide on the split ring and the loop of the plastic insert.
3. Attach the jump ring to the loop on your phone insert.
4. Close the jump ring by twisting it back towards you, letting the ends slide neatly next to each other.
By twisting instead of pulling, you’ll maintain the strength of the rings, keeping your charm securely attached!

Project 2: Dangling Beaded Charm
A dangling beaded charm is a fun way to add personality to your phone!
Supplies needed to make a Dangling Beaded Charm
- Headpins or eye pins
- Beads, charms and pendants of your choice!
- Jump rings and split rings
- Round-nose pliers and wire cutters
Instructions:
1. Choose a headpin and slide on your favorite beads, leaving about ½ inch at the top.
2. Use round-nose pliers to bend the excess wire into a loop. If using an eye pin, you can attach multiple sections together for a cascading effect!
3. Attach a jump ring to your charm and connect it to a split ring.
4. Hook it onto the plastic insert’s loop and enjoy your customized charm!
