Step-by-Step Instructions for Your DIY Beaded Plant

Step 1: Painting the Styrofoam Ball

First, paint the Styrofoam ball with brown acrylic paint to simulate soil. Let it dry completely before moving on to the next steps. Video tutorial available here.

Step 2: Preparing and Beading the Wire Stems

Next, cut several pieces of silver wire, each 4–7 inches long, which will become the stems of your beaded plant. Use pliers to curl one end of each wire to prevent beads from sliding off. Thread green beads along each wire, leaving a short length at the base un-beaded. Make at least 10 stems in varying lengths for a natural, full look.

Step 3: Assembling the Beaded Plant

Then, secure the painted Styrofoam ball inside the terracotta pot using hot glue. One by one, glue the end of each beaded stem and insert it into the Styrofoam ball. Continue until most of the Styrofoam is covered, creating a lush appearance for your DIY beaded plant.

Step 4: Adding Optional Moss for a Realistic Finish

Finally, add synthetic moss around the base to conceal the Styrofoam and give your handmade plant a realistic touch.
