What is Inktober?
Inktober is a popular inking challenge that began in 2009 as a way for artists to improve their skills and build positive drawing habits. Over the years, it has grown into a global event, inspiring thousands of artists to participate annually.
Who Started Inktober?
Jake Parker, the creator of Inktober, is an illustrator, writer, and concept artist known for his work in animation, comics, and children’s books. In 2009, he launched a widely recognized inking challenge to encourage artists to work on their skills and establish consistent drawing habits.

Official Prompt List
Each year, Jake Parker releases a list of 31 prompts – one for each day for the month of October – to help inspire artists with ideas for their ink drawings. These prompts range from simple concepts to more imaginative themes, encouraging creativity and artistic growth.
While following the list isn’t required, many participants enjoy using it as a guide to challenge themselves and explore new ideas. Whether you stick to the prompts or create your own, the goal is to develop a consistent drawing habit and have fun along the way!

Once you’ve finished your drawing, share it with the world! Post your artwork on social media using the #Inktober hashtag so others can see your creativity, follow your progress, and join the community of artists taking on the challenge.
