Quilt for Heroes 2013

It’s time again for the annual Quilt for our Heroes quilt donation event!

Ben Franklin is partnering with American Hero Quilts to provide handmade quilts to our soldiers at Madigan Army Medical Hospital at JB Lewis-McChord.

You are encouraged to participate by dropping off a completed quilt (or quilt top) to our Fabric department by June 30, 2013.

Block of the Month

{An Ornate Garden}

Starting March 2013

This quilt features Royal Gardens by Maywood Studios. Designed by Grace Wilson for Maywood Studios.

This unique quilt is made of only 4 main blocks. Each block is created 3 times using different fabric combinations to give it a completely different look.

Finished Quilt is 87 1/2" x 105 1/2".

There are no sign up fees for this program. This block of the month will run from March through August 2013. You will receive cuts of fabric to make the block sections each month. Month five and six, you will receive the fabric for the remaining borders and binding. This block of the month does include the pattern, fabric for top and binding. It does not include batting and backing.
